Anouk has enjoyed a wonderful weekend full of friends & family.
Saturday was rather hectic with visitors most of the day & eventhough her "milkshake has to be connected for the best far of 16hrs per day it didn't deter her from doing anything. The reason why Anouk is being fed by the tube is that the nerve that works with the muscle that closes the airway when she swallows is not playing ball so as a result there is a risk of food getting into the airway...not a good idea. So it's about 95ml per hour or 1500 ml a day that goes in through the nose & into her tummy. Initially we didn't like eating in front of her as we felt it unfair that we could eat properly but Anouk couldn't. But it doesn't seem to worry her at all at the moment & she even told me today that she won't be able to eat through her mouth until she get s better!

Sunday started with a visit to Church fro the Harvest Festival. The reason for this is that Neave was singing with some other school kids. There was a rehearsal on Thursday with at school with all the students belting out your Harvest Festival favourites. The parish priest was there & with a captive audience he kicked off a recruitment drive for "everyone" to turn up on Sunday for a repeat performance! 10 out of about 75 ain't too bad !

It was then off to lunch with the family. After lunch there was no way Anouk was going to be held back by her milkshake. Riding the horse, on the swings & even dragging Katie onto the trampoline were all part of a very enjoyable family day.

The day infact before Grandma turns 69! I don't think I'm allowed to mention it to often but yes Grandma is 69 on Monday & that means only 1 year until she turns 70. So yes thats right Grandma will be 70 this time next year...oh how time flies.

Monday is also Marsden/marsbar/marsapan/club chemo day 1, which due to a late change, will only be a day visit for some Nuclear medicine test to make sure her kidneys are all working OK. Thursday is now when she goes in to start the chemo.

Anouk is on great from at the moment & apart from a husky voice, a tube hanging out of her nose & this bloody tumor... you wouldn't pic that there was something going on, but there is. She is a very brave girl & we thankyou all once again for al your love, thoughts & generosity....all the things that we make all of us strong through this journey.
