2 great days at home

0000 08/10/09

We have had a really wonderful couple of days at home - Anouk has been on good form except for a couple of rather spectacular tantrums yesterday - much better form today thanks to more diligent parenting (lunch time sleep).

She has played with friends, met the bus from the Cranleigh schools, been to Katies playgroup accompanied by Grandma whilst Catherine went to school with Neave - it was great to spend some much needed but all to short time with Neave!

Today she went to ballet - she has been desperate to get to ballet 'I go to ballet soon' - she was very proud of herself and told me that she had 'pointed her knees very well'. Neave has been a very caring and loving big sister and was very attentive as Catherine went through a book about a girl who had the same diagnosis and treatment Anouk has had / will be having - she took it to school and was very keen to share the information with her friends, she commented on the section that said that the little girls brother was a little put out about all the attention his sister was getting, Neave is being well supported at school, she is lucky to be in an environment that is receptive to her needs, and we know that living with Mum and Dad and going provides her with a stable and supportive routine.

We have continued to survive on meals on wheels - delicious food bought to our door. We are all feeling a bit wobbly about starting chemo tomorrow. It has to be done & we have to be strong...wish her luck.

  1. Hi Richard, Catherine, Neave and little Anouk,
We wish you all more than luck tomorrow. Hopefully knowing that as you travel this journey as a family you have the thoughts, well wishes and prayers of people from both sides of the globe will give you that little bit of extra strength for the weeks ahead. You are simply amazing in the way you share your photos, thoughts, trials and tribulations along the way. Thinking of you often and sending lots of hugs, love and positive vibes. Deb and Geoff xx

  2. Hello Richard, Catherine, Naeve and Anouk,
Thank you for keeping us all up-to-date with the blog. It is so lovely to see you all at home - especially loved the little ballet clips. Have been thinking of you today (we think of you everyday) and do hope that it went well at the Marsden.
Lots of love to all of you, Veronica and Paul xx
