Anouk has had her first full night in the "marsbar" & her first dose of Chemotherapy.
Yesturday was mostly spent getting settled in & collecting things from the playroom. She is in a room with another patient & has settled well.
Intially she was given fluids to make sure she was well hydrated & then at about 9pm last night they started a 6hr infusion of Chemo. There will be 5 different types of chemo drugs used over the next 7 days which will complete the 1st part of the cycle. She was sick at about 5am & once during the morning but apart from that...oh & a slightly high blood pressure....she has played well to day with no major drama's.
Neave hasn't seen Anouk in the Marsbar yet but will be coming in on Saturday. We will all be together from now on as most of my work will be in & around London for the next 6 - 8 weeks.
To an extent it's a great relief to get the process underway. Like so many days at St Georges the waiting around for something to happen is the worst part.
