Here we go again

Richard is not here and i am a)quite smug with myself for managing to log into the blog account and for writing an update b)less smug given i couldn't remember the pass word and so had to get it reset and have no idea how to make his look more interesting than it does! My affinity with the electronic age is reflected in the fact that i have as of today been through three portable DVD players, Anouk is not impressed. I am writing this from my bed in the cupboard, with Anouk snoring on my right and looking at a beautiful sleeping Neave, they were absolutely delighted to see each other today, it really is tough on them being apart. We are now on day five of the third course of chemo, Anouk is tolerating it really well, and has been bouncing today, despite having an infection in her 'hickman line' and needing a blood transfusion, which has just finished. The infection reared its head on Thursday with a high pulse followed by a high temperature, this has settled down with one antibiotic and today with the benefit of the blood test results of she started another, specific to the bug. It is a common infection and should clear up quickly. There are a few children of Neaves age around on the ward, patients and siblings and so they will keep her and Anouk entertained. We are very lucky that Anouks temperament makes her very popular with the nurses and play specialists, she trusts them, and they are happy to play with her for short periods whilst i nick off for a shower or whatever. Anouk would of course prefer to be at home and told me that today, but this environment is as good as it could be. We have had quite a few visitors again this week including my gorgeous sister who was here on Friday when Anouk was quite unwell, I really look forward to seeing her on Fridays for a good goss and 'fish and chips' the Mars Bar does a pretty good version of the classic, so Fish and Chip Fridays are quite exciting - how sad is that! It is quite strange being in here hearing about all the Christmas shinanigans going on in the real world, although we will have our fair share of shinanigans, with a Christmas party this week, and various visits from entertainers etc I will also be aiming to get home to see Neaves Christmas show on Thursday.
